Lisa DiGianni, PhD
Creator/Instructor, YogaShape
YogaShape was developed by Lisa DiGianni PhD, Sr. Research Scientist in the Cancer Risk and Prevention Clinic at Harvard-affiliated Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Lisa is an expert in the area of women's health and cancer prevention, and has worked for over 15 years designing and overseeing clinical research studies for women at high breast cancer risk. Most recently, she has begun to develop exercise intervention programs to help empower women concerned about their cancer risk. She has published extensively in several academic journals. Lisa’s interest in mind-body fitness began several years ago as she sought various ways to overcome some personal challenges. Upon taking her first yoga classes, she experienced an almost immediate change in both mind and body, and realized that life’s situations could be better handled through a consistent yoga practice, both on and off the mat. Lisa realized that she wanted to combine her professional and academic expertise in women's wellness and cancer prevention with her new-found love of mind-body fitness, and share this knowledge with others. YogaShape was designed for people seeking creative ways to empower both their minds and bodies, not necessarily through a traditional yoga class, but through a more fitness-based program that would be fun, energizing, provide a solid-workout, and also incorporate the power of the breath.
